Warning signs on the road inside Tikal National Park
We camped at this waterpark after we visited Copan. It had two security guards. One of them had a machine gun and a pistol. He rode off at closing time on his bicycle, carrying his machine gun.

Great read - as always fun! That big Icelandic truck (registered in Germany and bought in the USA) belongs to Guðný and Kristján, whom we met late July in Guatemala, at Lago Atitlan... They are on their way to South America and their website is http://www.benzi.is/

Just happened to stumble up on your great site. No wonder you did not find us there, we where lying in site as we did catch the denge fever and where stuck in the Finca for 2 weeks whereas one with out being able to move. We later on headed to Panama but unfortunately we had to go home again. Now we are waiting for the effects of the financial crisis in Iceland do go over so we hopefully can hop on the road again asap.
